Assalaamu Alaikuum Brothers and Sisters,
Inna lillahi wa inna ilayhi raji’un, the carnage that we have witnessed these past five months in Gaza, the unfolding Genocide is really beyond the imagination and comprehension of many of us, Muslim and non-Muslima alike. We seek Allah’s aid alone, in ending the suffering for all Muslims, and to bring swift justice against the wicked shayateen committing oppression and transgression.
In seeking comfort, we find many of our scholars reminding us to find wisdom and steadfastness through the Quran. We wanted to highlight the above series by our beloved Sheikh Karim Abu Zaid, who provided a breathtaking analysis of the current events by explaining the Sunnahs of Allah, and the wisdom behind why events are unfolding the way they are. Alhamdulillah, despite this devastating calamity, there is always a learning opportunity to have a deeper understanding of our deen.
Within the frame of the question, ‘where is the help and intervention of Allah?’, Sheikh Karim outlines the responsibility of the ummah and where and how Allah’s help can be earned through exploring the lessons from previous nations, and the change in the concept of Jihad. Allah grant us wisdom and understanding of our religion, and make the Quran the ultimate source of comfort, Ameen!
