Assalaamu Alaikuum brothers and sisters! 🙂
Brought to us by the good people of Masjid Ribat, we have a prolific series on Fiqh based on the classical guide to the Hanbali madhab entitled Zad al-Mustaqni’, taught by Sheikh Uthman Ibn Farooq, MashaAllah!
A basic definition of Fiqh, the topic of the series, according to Britannica… “Fiqh, (Arabic: “understanding”) [is the concept of] Muslim jurisprudence—i.e., the science of ascertaining the precise terms of the Sharīʿah, or Islamic law…fiqh [can be understood as an imperfect and changeable] human effort to know the Sharīʿah…”
Also, a description of the works Zad al-Mustaqni: “It covers the Book of Purification, the Book of Prayer, the Book of Funerals, the Book of Zakat, the Book of Fasting, the Book of Rites, the Book of Jihad and the Book of Food… [it is] the text that came to be considered as the main source for the study of the Hanbalī madhab (school of jurisprudence)…” https://darussalam.com/a-commentary-on-zad-al-mustaqni/
The material covered in this series is more at an intermediate level, but MashaAllah it’s a great resource for those who want to become a dedicated student of knowledge, in sha Allah. So far, the series has covered the book of Purification and is now on the Book of Prayer. May Allah bless Sheikh Uthman & the team at Masjid Ribat for their efforts to educate the ummah.
Alhamdulillah, when we come across these types of series, we Praise Allah s.w.t! What a blessing to have an outlet to learn knowledge that would otherwise be inaccessible to the average English speaking layman Muslim, like ourselves! 😉
May Allah grant us tawfeeq to stay dedicated and sincere on the path of knowledge, Ameen!
