Assalaamu Alaikuum dear brothers and sisters,
SubhaanAllah, there are a lot of events happening in the Muslim world, especially in the Middle East. We make dua for all of our brothers and sisters, fighting oppression and enduring with steadfastness. May Allah protect and aid the Muslimeen, wherever they are! Ameen. Their victory is inevitable, it is a promise from Allah subhanahu wa ta’ala.
We realize that it is important as believers to be concerned with the affairs of the ummah, especially after the momentous events in Syria, May Allah bless the people of As Sham! But it is hard to find reliable sources of information, and it is even more important to find Sunni Muslim voices. Why? Because with the recent liberation of Syria, Muslims have been shown the fickle nature of our non-Muslim allies, who have been championing the cause of Gaza, while in the same breath mocking and belittling the cause of the Syrian people.
It is crucial that we take this moment to first praise Allah, the Self Sufficient, and thank Allah subhanahu wa ta’ala for giving the ummah clarity about who are our real friends and who are our true enemies. Allah reminds us again and again in the Quran that non-Muslims do not have our best interest in heart, and while we can cooperate in the good, and deal with them in kindness and respect, we can not let our guard down and put complete trust in them. Ultimately, our true love and trust is only for the believers, and this is why we must seek out Sunni Muslims voices, for better awareness and perspective on what is happening in the Muslim world.
