Bismillah, walhamdulillah, wa la illaha ilallahu, wallahu akbar
Inna lillahi wa in allah-e-rajioon, the story of brother Khalifah Marcellus Williams, is really heart wrenching but also the greatest iman booster. The short summary is that an African American Muslim man by the name of Marcellus Williams, was put on death row and accused of murdering a white woman many years ago. The case against him was said to have many flaws, and it was likely he was innocent due to lack of credible evidence (and Allah ultimately knows best). Ultimately there was a unified call by all parties involved from opposing sides, to review his case and halt the execution that occurred last week. SubhaanAllah, the demons in charge proceeded to execute him, and commit this heinous injustice.
Alhamdulillah, as Muslims, this story is both very emotional and also inspiring. And for the past few days it was hard to really to put into words how this story has impacted the ummah, and by extension the entire world. Until, both brother Abdul Wahid from the UK and brother Abu Mussab released these short commentaries, which brilliantly and beautifully summarizes the blessings in this whole tragic situation.
Please watch this and reflect. Allah have mercy on our brother Marcellus (who reverted in prison and went by Khalifah as an imam to his fellow Muslim brothers), forgive him, shower him with His endless Mercy, and elevate him! Ameen. May Allah also keep steadfast the brothers he left behind in prison, and may Allah have mercy on all of our brothers and sisters in this tumultuous time for the ummah. Ameen ya Rabb.
